March 2015: We are OPEN for the Season!

We opened for the 2015 season on March 3rd!  Our 2015 season is from March-Novemeber. We are looking forward to our second season in business.  The warmer weather has been calling not only us back to the river but also the wildlife.  The osprey are returning to their nest all along the river and a few new ones have come as well.  It is wonderful to see them arrive and know this river system is healthy to support their diet of fish, mice and snakes.  You will have to check out some of my  recent pictures on facebook. I have one picture of an Osprey with a large catfish he caught.  I call it "Osprey: Catfish Suchi" .  Our facebook page is Waccamaw River Tours.  Join our facebook and get to see some of my river photography.

What's New in 2015:  We have added in an Osprey Photography Boat Tour that will run from March-June on certain days.  It is for novice or professional photographers or want-a-be photographers wanting to take active photos of osprey and their young in their natural nesting habitat.  It is a fun adventure and challenging trial to try to shoot that perfect shot of osprey.  By boat, we will be getting up close to osprey nest and we will move from nest to nest to help you get that "Osprey Shot".  All levels of photographers are encouraged to come for the photo adventure.  It will be an 1.5hours of osprey photographing. This boat tour will be limited to 15 people to allow everyone to freely move about on the boat.  No tripods will be allowed but a single stick pod is fine.  A minimum of 8 people need to be signed up in order for the trip to run. So sign up you and your friends.  Cost will be $19.50/person.  No discounts accepted with this specialty tour.  I know you want to do this, so go ahead:   Book online at www.waccamawrivertours.com or call 1(888)315-9439.

The great egrets are also returning to the river and the alligators are out sunning themselves.  Spring fever is happening on the river!  I think we all are enjoying this nice, warm weather after such a cold winter.  Hope to see you soon.

Regards from the River,
