Peacock: To dress like a peacock

The peacocks are fully dressed with their spring plumage.  They are fanning out and strutting their colorful feathers trying to attract a female.  Only the males are called peacocks.  The females are called pea hens.  When all are together, they are called pea fowl.  A gathering of pea fowl is called a party.  They are wonderful birds to watch due to their beautiful colors & curious demeanor.  They roam freely along the zoo and Waccamaw River Tour property.

Cheerio is a peacock that visits Waccamaw River Tours grounds often. Cheerio and I have a special bond.  He loves my morning cereal "Cheerios" as much as I do.  Thus I named him Cheerio.  He is right at home here.  He comes often to the office door and calls out to let me know he is ready for some cheerios.  He will sit on the porch railing and look in the window at me working. He will sometimes visit with our guest on the porch and in the yard.  He is friendly and noisy.  I hope you come to love him as much as I do!
