Explorer 1, our 49-passenger pontoon boat, is at our docks with her new Coast Guard papers and we are doing tours on her. It is good to say that. We have added some of our own touches to her such as painting her front panels and placing our logos. The front panels of the boat were ugly with rust stains & peeling paint but now she is fresh & clean looking. Rick was able to convert the rust on the anchor and paint her black. I have repainted the head. It was not inviting but it looks so much better with some fresh & colorful paint. We are waiting on our new sound system to be installed. My voice will be thankful once it is finished being installed and our guest will also so they can hear all the interesting Nature & Wildlife narration.
The river has come alive! After a long winter, the alligators have come out of their dens and the osprey & egrets are nesting. The trees are turning green, the pink honeysuckle is blooming and the turtles are sunning. I am finally able to go outside without a jacket attached to me. Yes, spring is here along the river!
Our advertising and word of mouth is working. People are finding our hidden gem here along the river! Our first season is going to be awesome. Come on by and check us out! We have a small Gift Shop & Educational Center (called Education Station) with a small Snack Bar selling drinks (water, soda, etc), snacks (chips & crackers) and candy. Our guest can enjoy the swing ring and corn hole games on the property or just sit in the chairs to enjoy the beautiful river view. You can feed the zoo animals along our property. The wisteria on the property is in full bloom and beautiful. So come early and enjoy our great outdoors!
We are doing Nature & Wildlife River boat Tours at 11am, 1pm & 3pm (Monday-Saturday) and 1pm & 3pm (Sunday) through May. We will add in Breakfast and Sunset Nature & Wildlife River boat Tours in June. Keep checking our schedule for the new additions.
Regards from the River,
