October & November 2014

October 2014 was a busy month of groups, fundraisers, charity and Ghost Stories.   Events we did:

Wine Tasting on the River on Oct 3, 2014 was to raise funds for the Waccamaw RIVERKEEPERS program.  Jonathon from Duplin Winery was entertaining as he taught us about wines.  We tasted several wines. The wine and the beauty of the river was awesome.  Several of you have asked me about having more Wine Tasting boat tours and our answer is "Yes".  We will have wine tasting boat tours in the spring and summer months for 2015.

Oct 8th, 2014 Coastal Network Cooperative (CNC).  We hosted CNC Fam.  Members visited Waccamaw River Tours to learn about our business and be treated to a Nature & Wildlife River boat tour.  It was a beautiful day on the river.  Thank you, CNC!

Oct 12th, 2014  We hosted Scents for Soldiers Fall on the Water event.  Wounded soldiers and their family attended a cook-out (Food by Danny's BBQ) and boat tours & fishing tours at no cost to them.  Scents for Soldiers helps provides for soldier needs that are not covered.  This group of individuals and their families from bases in NC and SC enjoyed themselves.  We were blessed to have them here!

Oct 25-31, 2014 Ghost Stories on the River.   We told Ghost Stories out on the boat at night along the river.   It was our first attempt at creating such an event.  We had fun making props and learning local ghost legends/stories.  One of the best things was sitting around the campfire making smores and socializing.  The hard part for us was to securing our ghost props along the river.   Some of those ghost decided to leave.

October is  a beautiful time of the year here at Waccamaw River Tours.  The hot summer heat has left and the mild temperatures are just right to be on the river.  The sunsets are beautiful this time of year!  We had several group tours in October.  School groups, Church groups and local groups came for boat tours. Also the locals like to come out an play along the Grand Strand in the fall.  We thank you all who booked a boat tour and look forward to seeing you again.
