Nature of a Southern, Blackwater River
With Waccamaw River Tours, you will explore by boat the beautiful cypress lined Waccamaw River, Intracoastal Waterway and its creeks/swamp; in search of birds, and other wildlife that inhabit these southern waters along the untouched National Wildlife Refuge. The majesty of the moss lined river is breathtaking and the peacefulness of this natural area is appealing to all. Large osprey nest can be seen along the river. You also may see heron, egrets, cormorants, ducks, turtles and alligators. You’ll be greeted by roaming peacocks and gaze upon exotic animals such as bison, zebra, fallow deer, emus, and sheep on the drive to & from our docks at the back of the Waccatee Zoo. Waccamaw River Tours is a separate business from the Zoo. We have our own parking area in the back and parking is free. Learn about the history of this river and surrounding areas. It is a historic and educational exploration of nature for all ages.

Check-in is located in the Gift Shop. Enjoy the Gift shop and Education Station. You can learn about and see pictures of wildlife in the Education Station. You will also be able to enjoy games on the property or just embrace the beauty of the river from one of several chairs.
